Hi there!

We are Brad and Brooke, a couple of middle-aged empty nesters from the Sunshine Coast, Qld.

We began our travels in June 2020 and our plan is to find a way we can continue this lifestyle indefinitely.

In 2019 we made a choice to leave our jobs as we were both tired of the rat-race and craved a more simple and carefree life, one that focussed more on adventures and experiences than accumulating ‘stuff’.

We started by selling our house, with the aim to downsize, then before we knew it we were selling all of our belongings as well and planning a life on the road! Within 3 months we had bought a new home, a tiny one on wheels – our 16.5ft Jayco Expanda. A crazy idea that started one night over a glass of wine had quickly evolved into our new reality, and it’s the best decision we’ve ever made.

It has completely changed our life and our mindset. We have our freedom back, we get to set our own pace, and we’ve realised how little we actually need in order to be happy. Every day is a new adventure, and we live in the best country in the world to explore!

Being a ‘Left Laner’ is all about taking things slow. The name was born while towing our van home for the first time… Everyone on the 4-lane highway was overtaking us, but we didn’t mind a bit. We liked it in the Left Lane, this was our new pace for life, and we’ve never been in a hurry since.
