A guide to your Jayco RV: How to use the Sphere washing machine

29th Sep 2021

Waiting to use the washing machines at a caravan park can become quite exhausting, especially with many other travellers in the queue.

The Sphere 3.3 kg Automatic Mini Washing Machine is the perfect addition to your RV, giving you the flexibility to do your laundry when convenient.

This updated model includes a greater loading capacity, a newly designed carry basket with locking clips, improved rubber hoses with stainless steel screw clamps and three water level options.

It also features five process settings, ranging from a wash-rinse-spin cycle to a simple spin cycle.

The Sphere washing machine is a standard inclusion on Journey Caravans, All Terrain Caravans and Silverline Caravans. Optional on Expanda Caravans, Starcraft Caravans and Basetation Caravans.

In this video, Chris will be demonstrating how to use the Sphere washing machine fitted in a Jayco Journey Outback 19.61-3 Caravan.

Step-by-step guide to using the washing machine:

Step 1

Get familiar with the specifications of your washing machine.

This top-loader appliance requires a 240V power supply.

If you are free camping, you will need a generator to power it.

Features include:

  • Load Capacity: 3.3Kg (dry laundry)
  • Max Water Volume: 20Lt
  • Max Water Usage: 78Lt per load on high setting
  • Net Weight: 18.5Kg
  • Rated input power 235W
  • Dimensions: 410W x 420D x 740H (mm) + 240mm with lid up
  • Cold water inlet only
  • Stainless steel wash tub
  • Durable lint filter
  • Carry basket with locking clips

Step 2

Lift the cabinet lid.

Lift the washing machine lid to reveal the peg basket.

This basket also doubles as a barrel lock, which locks your barrel in place whilst travelling.

Step 3

Once you are ready to operate your washing machine, lower the washing machine lid.

To power up this appliance, press the power button on the far right.

Step 4

The water level button on the far left indicates whether the machine will operate on a low, medium, or high mode.

Click this button to select your desired mode.

Step 5

You can also select from the following process settings: wash, rinse, spin, or rapid cycle.

Use the process button on the left to indicate which setting you would like to choose.

Step 5

To begin your cycle, click on the play button.

It will start to fill up with water.

On the highest mode, this machine will use 76 Litres per cycle.

We recommend using it at a caravan park if this mode is required.

If you wish to operate it whilst free camping, you can use a generator.

However, we would advise you to select the low mode in this instance.
