A guide to your Jayco RV: How to use the Winegard Wifi

3rd Nov 2021

Remaining connected with friends and family whilst on the road requires an effective Wi-Fi connection.

Luckily, your Jayco Silverline is fitted with the Winegard Wi-Fi extender, which is mounted on the roof.

This system allows you to remain connected throughout your journey, with access to nationwide 4G through a reliable and fast connection.

Accessing uninterrupted, in-motion and stationary coverage during your travels is easy, and you can use this system to keep mobile devices, speakers, computers, gaming systems or smart TVs connected.

In the following video, Chris will be demonstrating how to use the Winegard Wi-Fi extender fitted in a 24.75-4 Silverline Outback caravan.

These instructions are applicable to all caravans in the Silverline range.

Step-by-step guide to using the Wi-Fi system:

Step 1

The Winegard extender allows you to add or swap sim cards.

If you choose to add a sim card, you can use the extender as a normal Wi-Fi router.

Alternatively, you can use it as an extender.

If you’re at a caravan park, you can connect into the office Wi-Fi.

Step 2

To turn your Wi-Fi on, simply flick the switch in the overhead cupboard.

Please bear in mind that you will need to wait a few minutes for the Wi-Fi to engage on the roof.

Step 3

The easiest way to connect to your Wi-Fi at a caravan park is through the Winegard Connect app.

Firstly, you will need to go into your phone’s settings, click on Wi-Fi and make sure you’re connected to the Silverline.

Step 4

Go to the Winegard Connect app.

In this example, it is automatically connected to the van itself.

Step 6

Select ‘internet source’.

Switch this from ‘no internet’ to Wi-Fi.’

Click done.

Click accept and then continue.

After a few moments, it will find the Wi-Fi source.

Step 7

If you have a sim card in your phone, the dropdown menu would say 4G, which you would be able to select.

Step 8

Now that this is connected, you can scan for Wi-Fi networks within a 4km radius.

A list of available networks that the van has found will be shown.

Select a network to connect to and enter your password.

Click accept.

Your van is now connected to Wi-Fi.
