Fancy a little barbeque while you’re on the road?
You will need to know how to use your gas bayonet to operate external appliances, such as portable barbeques.
In this clip, Chris will be showing you how to connect the gas bayonet on a Jayco Journey Outback 19.61-3 Caravan.
The gas bayonet is a standard feature on all Outback Camper Trailers, J-Pods Sport & Outback, CrossTrak, Outback Journey Pop Tops, Outback Expanda Pop Tops, All-Terrain Pop Tops, Outback Journey Caravans, All-Terrain Caravans, Work’N’Play Caravans, Basestation Caravans and Silverline Caravans.
The gas bayonet is optional on all other Touring and Bushpack models.
Step-by-step guide on connecting your gas bayonet
Step 1
On the front door side of your caravan, you will see a gas bayonet fitted on the side of the main member.
To undo your bayonet, simply twist the dust cap and pull it down once loosened.
Step 2
Drop the dust cap down and insert your bayonet by pushing it in until firmly inserted.
Step 3
Once you have finished using the gas bayonet, you can remove it by gently pushing it up, then twisting to loosen it and pull it out.
After pulling it out, insert your dust cap and twist to secure it in place.
