Guide to your Jayco RV: How to connect the gas bottles

To use the many features fitted in your Jayco RV, you must know how to operate the gas bottles.

This is pivotal for gaining access to hot water, your cooktop, fridge, or optional gas ducted heating.

In this clip, Chris will be demonstrating how to connect the gas bottles on a Jayco Journey Outback 19.61-3 Caravan.

This instructional video applies to J-Pods, Camper Trailers, CrossTraks, Starcraft Pop Tops, Journey Pop Tops, Expanda Pop Tops, All-Terrain Pop Tops, Starcraft Caravans, Journey Caravans, Expanda Caravans, All-Terrain Caravans, Work’N’Play Caravans, Basestation Caravans and Silverline Caravans.

Gas bottles are available on all Jayco caravans.

Step-by-step guide on connecting your gas bottles

Step 1

Release the clips on both sides of the gas bottle cover.

Step 2

Fold the cover down to reveal the gas bottles.

Step 3

On the regulator, you will find a small lever.

Twist this to the direction of the gas bottle you wish to use.

Step 4

Twist the valve clockwise to turn on your gas bottle.

Step 5

Once you have finished using your gas, turn off your gas bottle by twisting the valve anti-clockwise until firmly shut.

Twist the lever on the regulator back to vertical, then close your gas bottle cover.
