From incredible landscapes, crystal clear ocean waters and world-class wineries, Western Australia has an endless list of amazing places to visit, making this corner of Australia a must visit.
With sunny days and cooler nights, September through to November is one of the best times to visit and explore to Western Australia, so we’ve asked our new Jayco Vanbassador, surfing superstar and West Australian local Imogen Caldwell, for her favourite WA caravanning locations to help inspire your next road trip.
All of Imogen’s spots are caravan friendly but are a little remote. In most cases, you’ll need to take in all food, water, fuel and other supplies.
Red Bluff, Quobba Station
Located 10 hours from Perth on Southern Tip of the Ningaloo Marine Park is Red Bluff. It is a part of Quobba station, a sprawling 187,000 acre working pastoral station. Described as the spot where the desert meets the sea, and known as one of the best surfing spots in Australia, Red Bluff is where Imogen grew up. The campsite here is situated in a little bay, and is well worth a visit.
Denmark
Located on the South West Coast of Western Australian, about 400km away from Perth, is Denmark. According to Imogen, Denmark has a stunning coastline with some of the most beautiful swimming and diving spots in WA. There are also some stunning walking and biking tracks.
Lucky Bay, Kalbarri
The Lucky Bay camping ground is a hidden gem located 40 minutes from the Kalbarri township. You can’t book a site here, but if you can get one it is well worth it as the campsite itself is located a stone’s throw from the beach. It has a gorgeous lagoon you can camp at if you have a chemical toilet, so it’s the perfect location for families and little ones. Some of Imogen’s favourite activities while staying at Lucky Bay include motorbiking, diving and fishing.
Warroora Station
Warroora Sation is a cattle station situated between Carnavon and Coral Bay on the stunning Ningaloo Reef. Offering access to the Ningaloo Reef Marine Park, Warroora Station is another one of Imogen’s childhood regulars. Imogen loves the insane beaches and crystal-clear waters and says it is a great spot boating, skiing and of course surfing.
