Christmas sides on the road

You have picked your favourite roast and wondering what to serve with it? Here are a few ideas to get you going. Use these as a guide.

When it comes to cooking and eating while on the road you may not have all the items, all the ingredients, all the bits and pieces you need. Be creative, substitute, or if you have to, just leave it out, leaving something out won’t ruin Christmas!

1. To serve with Lamb

  • Honey and paprika roasted carrots
  • Coriander spiced roast pumpkin
  • Mint yogurt sauce

2. To serve with Pork

  • Apple and cabbage slaw
  • Cinnamon spiced apple sauce

3. To serve with Beef

  • Roast potatoes with rosemary salt
  • Chargrilled greens, olive oil and almonds
  • Chopped herb and caper salsa

4. To serve with Ham

  • Summer tomato salad, red onion and basil
  • Asparagus, green beans and kale
  • Pineapple relish made with leftover marinade
