A weekend away in NSW

10th Nov 2020

Escape the city for the weekend and explore the stunning coastlines in NSW, from Newcastle up to Forster.

Day 1 – Sydney to Newcastle

Kick off your weekend getaway by driving 196 kms along the coast to Newcastle. Located at the mouth of the Hunter River, Newcastle boasts pristine beaches with golden sand and breathtaking coastal views.

Spend your time on the water surfing, kayaking and paddle boarding before sitting back and relaxing on the beach. You may also like to set out on some 4WD tracks or view the coast from above in a helicopter ride. If you have kids with you, or just love wildlife, then the Blackbutt Reserve is a must.

During you stay, we recommend taking a dip in the Bogey Hole ocean pool!

Day 2 – Newcastle to Forster

Continue up the coast for 165 kms to reach your next destination in Forster. With incredible lakes and magnificent beaches, you’ll never want to leave!

Forster Beach and One Mile Beach offer some great surfing opportunities on pristine waters. You may also like to set out to Taree to explore the 6km stretch of Diamond Beach before enjoying the taste of the coast at some of the restaurants and cafes. Lastly, we highly recommend going for a walk to the Cape Hawke lookout for captivating 360-degree views of the coast.

Day 3 – Forster to Sydney

The return trip is 313 kms back to Sydney. Take a pitstop at Port Stephens and call into Murray’s Craft Brewery for lunch or enjoy some fish and chips on the beach.
