Jayco Founder Gerry Ryan Recognised in 2026 Australia Day Honours

At Jayco, we are incredibly proud to share that our founder and owner, Mr Gerry Ryan AO OAM, has been appointed as an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in the 2026 Australia Day Honours List.

This honour recognises Gerry’s distinguished service to sports governance, business, tourism and hospitality, and the community through philanthropy — a legacy that reflects the same values Jayco was built on over 50 years ago.

A Legacy Built on Australian Values

From starting Jayco in 1976 with a small loan and a big vision, Gerry has grown the business into Australia’s largest and most trusted caravan manufacturer, while keeping manufacturing proudly based in Australia.

His belief in hard work, quality, and backing local industry continues to shape everything we do — from the way we build our products to the way we support our dealers, customers, and communities.

Giving Back Beyond Business

Giving back has always been central to Gerry’s philosophy. Over decades, his philanthropic efforts have supported Australians at every stage of life, including:

• Youth development and education programs, creating opportunity through sport, leadership and learning
• Medical research and health charities, including long-standing support of StarBall, Fight MND, Alfred Health, the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation, and the Murdoch Children’s Research Centre
