While each person has their own music preferences, there truly is no better way to explore all our country has to offer than to do it while belting out some Aussie tunes.

One of the most iconic Aussie songs out there, Down Under truly sums up the Australian spirit and is a must for your road trip playlist.

You’re the Voice, otherwise known as the unofficial Australian Anthem, is sure to get big cheers – no one can resist belting this tune out.

  1. Khe Sanh – Cold Chisel

One cannot have an Australian playlist without including Khe Sanh. It was the very first Cold Chisel single and remains one of the most popular.

  1. Big Jet Plane – Angus & Julia Stone

While you might be travelling in an RV rather than plane, the mellow style of brother sister duo, Angus and Julia Stone is perfect for a cruisey trip, preferably by the seaside.

If the name of this one doesn’t get you excited, the lyrics sure will. It sums up the ultimate summer – perfect for your next warm weather trip.

This 1980’s hit is one of the most well-known songs by the band and is ideal for a family singalong.

Another one for the whole family, this banger by Daryl Braithwaite is perfect to sing with the windows down – preferably on the way to go horse riding.

A favourite from Aussie artist Tones & I, Dance Monkey is incredibly catchy and fun, making it a must add to your playlist.

  1. Highway to Hell – ACDC
    This Aussie classic was made popular for a younger generation with its inclusion in 2003 movie School of Rock and is sure to pep the while family up.

  2. These Days – Powderfinger
    It is not an Aussie playlist without at least one Powderfinger song, so last but certainly not least is Powderfinger hit, These Days, one of the most popular and endearing tracks by the band.
