17th May 2021

Jayco’s latest Vanbassador, Aimee Stanton is a plumber turned DIY specialist and Tiny House creator. She is the ambassador for the CrossHaul, a 11ft Toy Hauler that features a spacious rear living and cargo garage – making the transition from work to weekend even easier.

In this blog post, Aimee shares her top holiday spots for couples in Victoria.

BRIGHT

Bright is an easy four-and half-hour drive from Melbourne CBD. It’s the ideal place for all adventure couples, with plenty of activities to enjoy. You can explore the peaks of Mount Buffalo National Park or hit up the popular ski resort of Mount Hotham.

“Bright is one of my favourite locations. It’s a very romantic place to stay during the cooler months because the colours of trees change, and it’s just gorgeous,” said Aimee.

“When it comes to accommodation, my favourite caravan park is Porepunkah Pines Holiday Park. We love hiring a bike and riding the trails, heading to the main park for a great atmosphere and vibe with a picnic before going to Buffalo Berry Farm on the way home for ice cream and fresh berries,” she said.

RED HILL & THE MORNINGTON PENINSULA

Just on hour from Melbourne CBD, Red Hill and the Mornington Peninsula is a very popular holiday destination in Victoria for couples. There is so much to see, do and explore, from galleries, spas to delicious restaurants, cafes and boutique wineries.

“Red Hill and The Mornington Peninsula is the perfect place to go for a romantic day trip. You can immerse yourself in nature, connect with your loved one and take a break from hustle and bustle of the city,” said Aimee.

“I create and own Tiny Stays. We have just opened a gorgeous new Tiny House in The Mornington Peninsula. What I love about this location is that it is within walking distance to beautiful sights and popular attractions – including wineries, hiking spots and Arthur’s Seat. What’s more, you don’t have to drive around and that’s a huge thing for when you’re on holidays. I always love to walk around and immerse myself in the local region,” she said.

YARRA VALLEY & HEALESVILLE

The Yarra Valley and Healesville is the ultimate getaway for foodie couples who love gourmet food and wine, with more than 160 different wineries in the Yarra Valley.

“Rochford and Zonzo are two of my all-time favourites. There’s also Coombe, Oakridge and Tarra Warra Estate. If you’re into beer or spirits, you can also try Watts River Brewery or Four Pillars Gin Distillery,” said Aimee.

“The food is also fantastic in this region. I love Innocent Bystander; it’s always got a great vibe with really delicious pizzas. Monroe’s Burgers & Beers is also amazing; they have the best burgers in town. It’s a great place for date night,” she said.
