2nd Jun 2021

For everyone out there who owns a little furry friend, we all know that they’re very much part of the family…so why not make sure they come on your next RV getaway adventure?

It’s important to make sure you are staying at pet friendly location for the ultimate assurance that your trip goes smoothly. To help, we have put together a little of our top pet-friendly locations across the country.

Victoria

Why not travel down to the calming and equally tranquil Daylesford area this holiday season? Daylesford Holiday Park is our top pick for where to stay. This park is incredibly open and spacious, making it a great spot for the kids and your pets to run around and play.

There are a heap of trees and greenery, so it is sure to make you feel instantly relaxed. This spot has a great holiday vibe and offers accommodation that is suitable for overnight or longer term stays. Powered caravan, drive through and camping sites are available as well. The best part is that dogs are welcome on caravan and camping sites ALL year round.

There is even a dog-friendly cabin called ‘The Bark Royal’, where they will also be able to roam around the garden. Just when you thought that was all, there’s even Victoria Park right next to the accommodation which allows your dogs to run free off-leash. In addition, don’t forget about the heap of wineries, restaurants and Macedon Ranges region to also visit. What’s not to love?

New South Wales

Pack your four-legged friends’ bags and head on down to Merimbula Beach Holiday Resort! Merimbula is one of the most beautiful holiday destinations, known specifically for its coastal magic. This holiday resort is located along the stretch of NSW’s south coast. This holiday park is super pet-friendly and offers a multitude of powered and unpowered sites. There are plenty of boardwalks and beaches to choose from and bring your pet along to. They will love the fresh air and the smell of the sea breeze. The Main Beach and Short Point allow for off-leash activity and also the Bega River if you feel like a walk. Another family and pet friendly favourite is the boardwalk that starts at Twofold Bay and ends at Lake Curalo.

Queensland

Give you and your pet some R&R this holiday period at Minjerribah Camping site, North Stradbroke Island. We absolutely love this destination as this campground has something for everyone. In terms of the campsite, your pets need to be kept on their lead. But there are SO many spots they can run free. Home Beach, Rocky Point and Rocky Headland in front of the Point Lookout Hotel are the best places to let your pet run free and enjoy the atmosphere. These spots are also great for picnics and a chill. The Skatebowl Park, situated in Dunwich between the skate bowl and the fenced off area is another must when taking your pet out of the campsite.

South Australia

Heading to South Australia and need the best place to host you and your furry companions? Our top pick is Cradock Hotel Campground in the Flinders Ranges. Your pet will LOVE you for it, especially if you are taking your dog. This destination is a 20-minute drive from Hawker and is super close to the mountain ranges, exciting gorges and gives you a great opportunity to connect with the wildlife at Ikara-Flinders National Park. This will also let you increase your step count as the walk around this National Park is super enjoyable and easy to navigate. This campsite is fully facilitated, where showers and toilets are only $2. This is definitely a bucket-list location for you and your furry loved one. Enjoy!

Western Australia

One of the biggest must-dos when you are travelling with your pet around WA is to visit Logue Brook Campground in Yarloop. This is a gorgeous location to let your pet run free and enjoy the scenery and fun atmosphere. This campground is 135kms from Perth and super close to the coast. This campsite is a one hit wonder and features picnic tables, kitchens, boat ramps and nearby cafes that you can also bring your pet to. There are so many things to do that are animal friendly here, one of the highlights being the coastal walks. Another benefit is that the campsite has been created specifically for the accommodation of pets, so there is no stress about having to worry about tying up your pet as there is a great amount of space between each site.

So, what are you waiting for? Choose your location and get ready to make some amazing memories with you, your family or friends and your furry little companion!
